The Spa at Four Seasons Surfside
/Need to take a second to recharge? Maybe get your glow back after an eventful SOBEWFF ? Look no further than The Spa at Four Seasons Surfside. Not only is this one of my favorite hotels in South Florida, but quite possibly my favorite spa... ever. When you walk into Four Seasons Surfside, you enter a glamorous tropical paradise that sets this property apart from any Four Seasons I’ve ever visited. The lobby is a beautiful bright enclave lined with decorative coconut palms and to your left, the elegant Mediterranean restaurant and champagne bar, Le Sirenuse. Designed by the ever so talented Joseph Dirand, this property embraces the classic Miami glamour many Miami Beach hotels seem to have forgotten about.
I recently spent the day at the hotel's spa- an incredibly intimate space complete with light filled treatment rooms overlooking the ocean, private relaxation quarters and a traditional (yet luxurious) Hammam to end your day with a little detox steam. The spa interiors are filled with gorgeous crisp white and blue furnishings, gold accents and marble counter tops that will make you want to redesign your apartment. Choose from a wide range of globally acclaimed treatments including organic custom facials, body scrubs, herbology wraps and deep tissue massages using advanced skincare techniques from Europe.
The Susanne Kaufmann line is unbelievable- no harsh parabens, sulfates or chemicals in these products... not to mention they left my skin glowing and hydrated. My aesthetician was incredibly knowledgable and gave me a complete skin analysis, offering various facial options for my specific skin type. My favorite part of the treatment was definitely the paraffin wax she applied to my feet leaving them feeling... oh, so soft.
After my luxurious facial, I rinsed off in an aromatherapy shower, hit the steam room and then made my way to the gorgeous Hammam. While relaxing post-treatment, there are tons of healthy treats to munch on like coconut date balls (my favorite) mixed nuts and fresh fruit. If you feel like splurging, you can book a private spa cabana on Cabana Row in front of the pool for a little extra privacy. If you decide to kick it by the pool, you'll find a quaint relaxation lawn the hotel uses to host weekly yoga classes overlooking the ocean. Top it all off with a fresh bowl of Snapper Ceviche and a juice at the Poolside Restaurant & Bar and you've got yourself a perfect spa day... because we all need a little pampering every once in a while.
